Webby is designed to protect outbound email systems for businesses and web hosting environments. Our focus is on keeping email delivery reliable, protecting IP reputation, and preventing compromised accounts from being used for spam. Webby is not an email marketing platform, but nothing prevents the use of legitimate email lists - provided they follow best-practice standards.

Email Lists & Best Practice

You’re welcome to send emails to mailing lists through Webby as long as they are:

  • Double opt-in

  • Properly managed and maintained

  • Low bounce and complaint rates

  • Sent with clear identification and unsubscribe options

If an email sender experiences a high bounce rate, outgoing mail may be temporarily restricted. This is an automated part of our anti-spam protection. Webby continuously monitors responses from remote mail servers. Even messages that initially pass filtering may be blocked later if delivery behaviour indicates poor list quality or potential abuse.

What’s Not Allowed

To keep things fair for everyone on the platform, the following practices are not permitted:

  • Cold emailing scraped or guessed addresses

  • “Did you miss my last email?” follow-ups to unsolicited messages

  • Bulk outreach to random websites or businesses

  • Purchased, rented, or shared email lists

These types of emails are almost always flagged as spam and will be blocked quickly.

High-Volume Senders

If your domain sends over 5,000 emails per day, you should ensure compliance with current bulk-sender requirements from major providers such as Gmail and Yahoo, including:

  • SPF, DKIM, and DMARC correctly configured

  • Valid unsubscribe headers

  • Consistent sending patterns and list hygiene

Failure to meet these standards may result in email being blocked to protect overall deliverability.

What Webby Is (and Isn’t)

Webby exists to protect:

  • Business email

  • Hosting customers

  • Mail servers from abuse or compromise

  • Overall IP reputation for all users

Webby is not intended for businesses whose primary activity involves:

  • Email marketing or affiliate mailing on behalf of others

  • Cryptocurrency promotions, airdrops, or unregistered investment schemes

  • Casino or gambling services

  • Email-to-SMS gateways

  • Piracy, leak forums, or copyright-infringing services

  • Pharmaceutical or supplement sales

  • “Bulletproof” or spam-tolerant hosting

  • Debt collection services

  • Non-accredited or misleading education providers

  • Trademark registration services without proper legal accreditation

Final Notes

The examples above don’t cover every possible scenario. Webby uses long-standing anti-spam experience and feedback from global mail systems to determine whether usage aligns with acceptable email practices.

If you’re sending legitimate, opt-in email and respecting recipients, you’ll have no issues.

If in doubt - ask us first. We’re here to help keep your email flowing, not to trip you up.
